The Journey ( Videos)

The adorable town of San Juan at #lakeatitlan #Guatemala

It gets prettier at night with all the cafes and restaurants that come of life after sunset - unfortunately the day I visited, there was a electricity failure and we lost power for 18 straight hours

I was also able to hike / climb the nearby Mirador in San Juan - The vibrant colorful- Mirador Kaqasiiwaan

how to get there

you don’t need a guide or a tour to visit Mirador Kaqasiiwaan. Just take a tuk tuk from anywhere in San Juan for about 10Q and pay about 30Q for entrance

The next day I hiked the Indian Nose for the sunrise

There are seleral companies who offer this tour. If you walk out on the streets of San Pedro , you will be able to book this tour with any of the local operators for about 100Q

you have 2 options - Either do a shorter sunrise hike OR take a bit longer route for the afternoon and do the sunset hike.

There are few other interesting spots to explore in San Juan in addition to all the art galleries and cafes. you can visit some local families for a meal OR even have a day in a life experience like the Mayans. Check programs with this company
